This article covers how to add a Supplement Section to a Custom Form, configure its common settings, and set up each available Supplement Type.
Part 1: Add the Supplement Section
Step 1. From the Define Templates page for your form, select Add Section.
Step 2. The Add Section page is displayed.
Step 3. From the Section Type drop-down list, select Supplement.
Step 4. The Add Section page for a Supplement section is displayed.
📌 Note: When adding a new Supplement Section, only the Assets Supplement type is available for selection. The other Supplement Types (Alarm, Device, Fire Extinguisher, Security Alarm Device, and Control Valves) are only accessible if you transfer in an existing form that already has that type configured. Many of the fields on the Add/Edit Section page are also determined by the Supplement Type selected.
Part 2: Configure Common Fields
The following fields are available for all Supplement Types on the Add/Edit Section page:

| Heading | Text entered here will be displayed at the top of the section on the form. |
| Top Level | When selected, the section heading is displayed at the beginning of the section. When not selected, the heading is hidden. |
| Left Align Header | When selected, the section header is displayed on the top left. When not selected, the header appears centered. |
| Add Visibility Filter | Opens the Add Visibility Filter page, allowing you to set conditions for when the section is visible on the form. |
| Presentation (Optional) |

| Create Clone Section | Displayed when Report Only Presentation is selected. |
| Border (Optional) | When selected, inserts a border around the section. |
| Section Frequency | Determines when the section appears on the form. Options include: Always, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, 2 Year, 3 Year, 4 Year, 5 Year, 10 Year, Serviced. |
| Supplement Type |
Defines the kind of asset being added to the form. Available types:

| Default N/A (Optional) | When selected, sets all Pass/Fail questions on the form to N/A as the default answer. |
Part 3: Configure Supplement Type-Specific Fields
Once a Supplement Type is selected, additional fields specific to that type will appear. Select your Supplement Type below for its unique configuration options.
Assets Supplement

Control Valves Supplement

Part 4: Build the Assets List
All Supplement Types require you to build a list of Asset Types that will be available for selection on the form. The steps below apply to all types.
Step 1. Select Add in the Asset Types section on the Add Section page.
Step 2. The Add Type page is displayed.
Step 3. Enter an Abbreviation for the Asset Type (e.g., AF).
Step 4. Enter a Full Name for the Asset Type (e.g., Anti-Freeze).
Step 5. Select the Select Symbol button.
Step 6. The Select Your Symbol window is displayed. Select a symbol for the asset.
Step 7. The selected symbol is displayed on the Add Type page.
Step 8. Select Custom Text on the Add Type page.
Step 9. The Symbol Text field is displayed. Enter the Symbol Text.
Step 10. Select Save to save the Asset Type. The new Asset Type is added to the Assets List.
Step 11. Repeat Steps 1–10 to continue adding all Asset Types you want available for selection on the form.
Step 12. Select Save to save the section.
Part 5: Preview the Supplement Section
Step 1. From the Define Templates page, select Save and Preview.
Step 2. The new Supplement section is displayed with all configured Asset Types. Verify the legend columns and asset list appear as expected.
💡 Example: If the Legend Columns is set to 6, the asset types will display in 6 columns, allowing an extensive list to be shown in minimal space. Inspectors can add assets to the list during an inspection by selecting the Add button.
